Guess
what? It's 5:50 am and the kids have been asleep for, let's see, 6
freakin' hours!!! My husband is the absolute CHAMP!!! I mean
CHAMP!!!
We
always called him the baby whisperer and then toddler whisperer with Eli, but
apparently his realm now extends to
toddlers-adopted-from-China-who-have-serious-jet-lag-issues whisperer.
For any others out there who have similar issues, here's what we ended up
at:
· - Put
Rosalee and Trey in the same room. The first night we were home Eli very
wisely decided to sleep in our guest bedroom in the Adventure Bed (shout out
Bro. Bob!) so we set him up in there with his own things. This was been
excellent. Much like Opie, he loves sleeping in there anyway, and this part of
the house is gated off and gives him a place he can detox, haha (kind of
haha).
· - Gave
up on trying to pull their schedule back and instead pushed it forward.
We kept them up until midnight.
· - Before
bed we gave them a bath (well a 2 hour bath but we were trying to keep them up.
And don't worry I drained and filled it again with warm water).
· - We
did the same routine we did in China which was both of them have a book and
prayers together. We had tried doing it separately but that just wasn't
working.
· - After
book and prayers, we dimmed the lights greatly and gave them a granola bar
without chocolate.
· - After
the granola bar we retreated to seperate rockers where they each had a cup of
warm milk. The warm part is important, they are not used to cold drinks
at all.
Of course, I have major indigestion which will not go away and have been up since 4. But I don't even care!
