At Night

Was reading in Psalms today.  One of my sons sleeps across the hall from me.  One of my sons sleeps across the world.  Sometimes, late at night I get so worried about him, because I can’t get to him and protect him.  So thankful for these verses about trusting the Lord in all things.

            But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,

            My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

            Psalms 3:3  NKJV

            Tremble, and do not sin;

            When you are on your beds,

            Search your hearts and be silent.

            Offer the sacrifices of righteous

            And trust in the Lord.

            Psalms 4:4-5  NIV

            Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.

            You have put gladness in my heart,

            More than in the season that their grain and wine increased,

            I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;

            For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
