Go Ahead And...

I'm reading through the Bible on my own decade reading plan.  Right now I'm in Psalms.  Last night I read Psalms 121.

This morning I happened on this post on Lauren Chandler's blog on this same passage, and about being afraid to jump into whatever God has called you to.  It was written awhile ago, but it was for me on this morning.  I've been reading alot of adoption blogs lately.  And I am FREAKED OUT y'all.  Chip has banned them for now.  Because he loves me.  I tell you, adoption, older adoption anyway, is not for the weak stomached.

I'm not sure if the majority of people going through rough times just need to "blog it out" or what, but almost every one I've read is 90% angst/drama/hurt, 10% joy.  I'm sooooo glad the Lord led us to some friends who've recently adopted and have had an awesome experience.  We got to meet their little guys in person and though I'm sure they have their struggles as any family does, they seem to be doing mahvelously.  I needed to see that.  Really needed to see it.

I have zero idea what the next year will bring, but as Lauren said in her post, the menacing voice IS whispering, "can you be so sure that He will catch, much less keep you?"  Well no I can't.  Or I feel like I can't, thus the freaking.  But I have to keep my eyes on Him, His Word.  From her blog:

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forever more.
