Well Glory

There are people that get on my nerves.  Crazy get on my nerves.  For some reason, whenever I'm around said people I start thinking of all the ways they’re getting on my nerves in the present, all the ways they’ve gotten on my nerves in the past, and (just for fun) all the ways they will most certainly get on my nerves in the future.  Like a bad record that just keeps looping, I keep thinking about these things when I'm with them.

Read an awesome quote by Jen Hatmaker’s husband, which said "If you serve the poor all day long yet you're a jerk to your neighbor, you're not a 'missional' person."

Pretty sure that can be changed to “If you adopt needy orphans yet spend countless time and energy focusing on how much I dislike someone, I’m not a ‘missional’ person.” Read these verses from Proverbs recently:
Troublemakers start fights;gossips break up friendships.
A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.

Wow.  I've never been good at offense overlooking.  But the Bible says it is a glorious thing.  Another verse I read:
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.  Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.  Galations 5:25-26
There are relationships in my life that can summed up in those three words: provoking, envying, conceited.  Ouch.

I’m praying that God will change my heart and fill me with love for the people I like to provoke and envy.
