The Forbidden Great Water Cube of Miracles

So our second day in Beijing has been extremely busy but great.  Again, extolling the benefits of the lovely, lovely sleep we got the day before.  Oh sleep, how I missed you!

Here’s what we did today, part 1.  Although it seems like a horribly American thing to say, I think my favorite thing was seeing the water cube where The Greatest Olympian of All Time worked his magic.  Our guide George says the Chinese call it the Miracle Cube.  I agree!

Apparently you can't just walk up to the Water Cube.  But we got pretty close.

Phelps baby!

The Water Cube
The Bird's Nest

Still lots going on in the Olympic park.

The Great Wall
Chip made it to the top.  I did not.  I was seconds from puking all over one of the seven wonders of the world.

Jade factory.  Very nice.

Even in China I can find the bargain bins!  Thanks for the training Mom!

Beijing acrobat theatre.  Loved it!

Beijing traffic is unbelievable.  On a fairly deserted Saturday night, it took us over an hour to get a few miles.  Crazy!
