Abraham Leaving Home

In Genesis 12, God told Abraham to leave his country, his family, all that he knew, to a place in the wilderness that God would show him.  How scary was that?  Didn’t he miss his family?  The security of a town?  Other people?  But he obeyed and God blessed.  Could God have made a nation out of Abraham and let him stay home?  I think so, God can do anything.  But maybe the calling him out, the leaving everything familiar and safe, was God’s way of preparing his heart to be the Father of His nation.  The distance wasn’t the point as much as the willingness to go the distance.  I don’t know if God’s calling you to leave where you are, the security, but I know He’s calling all of us to be willing to.  To desire Him above all else.  And mostly, to have faith in His character. To have faith that the One who is calling is good and loving and cares about us.  God, give me the grace to trust You more. Help me to change from following orders to following You.  Thank you for the wisdom and help of the Holy Spirit, my bff.
