Elijah was on the run from Jezebel. He had just killed all her false prophets and she was hot. While he was running from her he got tired and sat down under a tree to rest and sulk. As he was sleeping, an angel came to him and brought him cake and water to eat both a first and a second time. Think this is such an awesome picture of God’s grace and concern for Elijah. He really shouldn’t have been sulking, but instead of reprimanding him, God sent an angel to care for him in such a tender way. That’s grace. God, help me to remember your type of grace, and to share that as generously as you do.
